Breakfast for the Rough Sleepers

Trialed on Sunday 9th, an early morning breakfast was hosted by Crossover for the rough sleepers at Circus Street. This proved so successful that Crossover decided to continue trialling this over the coming months and see how it develops.

Currently there is a seven-church night shelter, which hosts around 15 rough sleepers which provides them breakfast. When this ceases at the end of Winter (March) there will be no replacement for Sunday breakfasts for those guests. Crossover will be the only food run on a Sunday daytime. Not having food runs over the weekends can prove dangerous, particularly for substance users, a Sunday morning Breakfast may just save a life!

It’s that wonderful time of the year again! We’ve been incredibly touched by the volume of volunteers willing to help out at our Christmas events across the festive period – so a massive thank-you from Crossover.

If you would still like to help, we aren’t looking for volunteers, but you can still contribute by bringing a gift for a homeless person. It could well be the only gift that they receive this Christmas. If you would like to get involved, please purchase a present and bring to St. Peter’s church on December 23rd or 24th and we’ll give it to someone in need on Christmas day.

The Mayor's Sleepover

On November 16th, Off the Fence are hosting ‘The Big Sleep-out’. It’s an event to help raise awareness of the issue of homelessness in the city of Brighton and Hove. In collaboration with the Mayor’s charity – this event is set to be a great fundraising opportunity.

Crossover’s very own Kitty (our Mobile Kitchen) will be serving breakfast in the morning. So watch this space for photos and more information!
